Set up your Memra

Two minutes, once. Then it just works.

1Charge it

Plug the included cable into the USB-C port on the top edge. The edge light flashes while charging and turns off when full. A fast-flashing red light means the battery is low.

2Pair it (once)

  1. Hold B + Home until the bottom edge light flashes yellow, then release.
  2. Open Bluetooth settings on your device.
  3. Connect to “Xbox Wireless Controller”. The remote vibrates once and the light turns solid. Done.

Same steps on every device: iPhone, iPad, Mac, Windows, Android. Bluetooth settings live in: iPhone/iPad: Settings > Bluetooth · Mac: System Settings > Bluetooth · Windows: Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Add device · Android: Settings > Connected devices.

It remembers your device. Next time, just press Home to wake it.

Quizlet & YouTube (computer)
  1. Install the free Memra extension for Chrome or Edge.
  2. Open a Quizlet flashcard set (or a YouTube video). If the tab was already open, reload it once.
  3. Press any button on the remote. That's it: Y flips, B is Know, X is Still learning.

Anki (computer)
  1. In Anki: Tools > Add-ons > Get Add-ons, paste code 1898790263 (Contanki), and restart Anki.
  2. Press any button on the remote to connect.
  3. Review with the face buttons and D-pad. Mappings can be customized in the add-on's options.
AnkiMobile (iPhone / iPad)

Once paired, the remote works in AnkiMobile out of the box. Flip and answer cards from across the room.

5Lights

  • Double-tap the small round Light key (center of the remote): lights on / off.
  • Light + L: solid color. Tap Light again to cycle colors.
  • Hold Light + A / B / X / Y: animated modes (breathing, chase, waterfall, dual chase).

6Good to know

Sleep Auto-sleeps after 5 minutes idle. Press Home to wake. Hold Home 3 seconds to sleep it manually.
Battery Charges over USB-C with the included cable. Red flashing = low battery.
Size 73 x 36 x 17 mm, 26 g. Lives in any pocket.
Troubleshooting
Won't pair Charge for 30 minutes. Hold B + Home until the light flashes yellow, then look for “Xbox Wireless Controller” in Bluetooth settings. If it was paired before, remove/forget it there first, then re-pair.
Extension not responding Reload the Quizlet/YouTube tab, click once on the page, then press a button. Check that the Memra extension is enabled in your browser's extensions page.
Buttons act wrong / typing letters The remote got switched into a different mode. Hold B + Home (yellow flash) and reconnect: that's the mode everything in this guide uses.
Connected to the wrong device Turn Bluetooth off on the device it grabbed, then wake the remote near the one you want.
Other modes (consoles & Android alternative)
Nintendo Switch Hold Y + Home (blue flash), then on the Switch open Change Grip/Order to pair.
Android alt mode Hold X + Home (pink flash), connect to “Gamepad”. Only needed if the standard pairing gives you trouble on Android.

To come back to normal: hold B + Home (yellow flash) and reconnect.
